Gorbi is a cleaning company in Zurich built around two ideas: that you should be able to see a price and a free time slot without talking to anyone, and that the person doing the work should be properly employed while you do.
Most cleaning companies make you fill in a form and wait for a call back. We never liked it as customers, so we did not build it. The calendar on this site shows real availability, the price is on the price page, and you get a short code instead of an account — no password to forget, no marketing emails, and someone else in the household can move a visit without logging in as you.
The people who clean for you are employed, not sent through a chain of subcontractors. They are paid to the sector's collective agreement, insured for public liability while they are in your home, and trained on one checklist so that a stand-in on a sick day cleans your kitchen the way the regular does. That is also why our hourly rate is not the lowest you will find: a rate below about forty francs an hour in Switzerland does not have all of that inside it.
Zurich works in more than one language, and so do we. The whole site, the booking flow and the people you speak to work in English, German, French and Italian. If you have ever tried to arrange a flat handover in a language you are still learning, you will know why we thought that mattered enough to build it in from the start.
We do not take construction-site cleaning, we do not quote a price we have not seen the job for, and we do not put a number on this site that we would then argue about on the invoice. If a job is not a good fit for us we will say so and, where we can, tell you who is better suited to it.
